Bro York yvwh chiller starting process but not running which one we need to check.

We run a York. It’s been in service for about 10 years, it has thousands of stall counts through its service . I’ve never really been able to get a good answer as to if these are design to protect from surge or an actual problem, we do run them at low load at times just because of the design of the facility it’s necessary. But we’ve never had any issues or failures of the machine.

I remember watching this video for the first time towards the end of my first semester of my HVAC program with no real expectations. Fast forward to today, I finished my first full year and managed to land a 1 year internship at my local hospital that will lead up to my graduation and their pay rate is $31 an hour. Their aim is to hire me on full time once i finish school and give me another raise. Now I always knew the money in this industry would be good but even I was genuinely shocked at the rate they gave me. With very little real experience in this field, what the hospital really wanted was just a young student who's a willing learner and that's exactly how I presented myself. My time to rise in the HVAC/R industry ranks begins now.

Work on automatic pedestrian doors and make $36/hr. Im in year five of my career. Probably going to get my EPA and 608 to start a small service only company on the side.

I’m a little under a year in as an HVAC service tech. As an apprentice I’m really good, in the humblest way. I’m generally good with my hands and a good problem solver. My company put me on my own only a few months in due to our demand and their confidence in me, which is nice. Past few weeks I’ve been on a few pretty difficult jobs when it comes to finding the source of the problem and at times feels like I really can’t do this trade. Just curious if other techs messed up a lot in the beginning and about how long it took to get to a decent flow state where you were confident with your work?

What’s scary with new people is size. Looking at a small fridge is the same as a massive chiller. It’s controls that is hard. Keep calm it’s just as easy other than programming

Been a HVAC engineer for 25 years. Started on installation then service. My opinion is learn on install then service. I’ve worked on process cooling - chillers. Fridge and air con. It’s a shit job to be fair. It’s hard travel and hard work. Being good at this job is just really hard.
